The Briggeman Story

It all started in 2009; my wife Eloise and I took a leap of faith and started our own business with a vision that was clear from the beginning – to become an industry leader providing the best customer service in the industry.

With two small children at the time and the economy officially in recession it was hard work but with a positive spirit, our business started taking off and soon we hired our first co-worker.

Starting with the supply of parts for container handling equipment in Durban (our first item we sold was a water pump for a straddle carrier!), we expanded our territory into the rest of South Africa and developed a “we-can-get-any-part” mentality for any brand and type of equipment.

In 2014 we moved to our first official premises outside our home gate, a 180m² shop tucked away in one of the corners of the Brownsdrift shopping centre.

We also became dealers for a number of niche products, amongst others Stinis container spreaders and Phoenix LED floodlights.

In 2018 we moved to a 750m² premises in Acutt Avenue, not only to accommodate our growing company, but also to provide a home for the The Wellness Centre Trust, a non-profit organization that is close to our hearts.

Since then, MAFI terminal tractors, TMEIC crane automation systems and Forkliftcenter pre-owned equipment have been added to our product portfolio.

In 2024 we became the sole distributor for Cavotec, a global engineering leader in innovative connection and electrification solutions for ports, maritime and industrial applications.

We moved to our current location in Umgeni Business Park in 2025 to be able to accommodate our latest extension of our business – engineering, precision manufacturing and fabrication.

With a broad range of equipment, parts, technology and engineering capablity, we are here for you!
